SP08 - Plain English Writing for Planners

This half day face-to-face course promotes best practice in plain English writing and explains how to communicate planning ideas clearly and effectively.

It covers the following topics:

1. Principles of plain English writing
2. Relevance of plain English writing to planning documents
3. Planners' most common writing foibles and how to overcome them

Here's what participants have said about this course:

  • Excellent!
  • Fantastic training, should be given to engineers as well
  • Simple and practical writing techniques to apply in our documents
  • Robin – congratulations on such a well-directed, highly pitched course.  I have done a few of these types of courses – this is the most applicable to planning.    This is a great course – and a great start to a more digestible future
  • While this is a simple sounding topic, the application is the challenge.  The training has given some easy-to-implement solutions.  My challenge is to change the way I think!
